We polled internally and externally to get some *professional* recommendations on podcasts for you all. These were our top contenders, featured with a few words written by those who recommended them.

In some cases podcasts can be simple stories, but in others they can be informative both with personal narratives and with technical information. Podcasts provide an outlet for obtaining greater knowledge on a wide variety of subjects, as well as a resource for passing time more efficiently.

In the case of these recommendations I asked the recommendees to answer several questions

-How do you take your podcasts? (How/when do you listen)

-What kind of content does this podcast feature?

-How have they been impactful?

Additional questions: funniest podcast memory, personal insight on podcasts, etc.

The Moral Courage Project: Rachel Carr

How do you take your podcasts? "I like to listen to a podcast when I'm cleaning, driving, or just having a slow morning"

What kind of content does this podcast feature? "... pieces from over 50 interview on the US border, the podcast stitches together a picture of immigration, activist, and change makers on our border with Mexico"

How has it been impactful? " As the associate producer, I've been involved with these stories since we conducted the interviews in May of 2018. Listening to these stories come to life for all of us outside has been really powerful. Listening to these stories gives you a perspective you won't get if you're not on the ground there and certain if you're just reading the news. "

The Dirtbag Diaries: Kelly Hines

What kind of content does this podcast feature? "This podcast is comprised of tales of 'duct tape and beer', giving listeners a look into outdoor adventures and advocacy"

How has it been impactful? "I don't think I'm alone in saying that sometimes I just wish I were in the mountains, away from the city. If I'm ever craving adventure or a reset and can't get away, these podcasts help tide me over until I can hit the trail again"

Personal insight on podcasts: "I personally feel like a podcast is whatever you make it to be, I really enjoy conversational podcasts that don't have a lot of substance for when I just need to zone out and not focus on a plot or line of thought"

The Liturgists: Emily Jones

How do you take your podcasts? "I like to listen to them when I'm driving."

What kind of content does this podcast feature? "The theme of the podcast is unpacking modern Christianity and how it has or hasn't changed in regards to various topics."

How has it been impactful? "Personally, it has helped me look at religion from a new, less structured lens and has given me tools to have these kinds of conversations with the people in my life."

Do you have any funny podcast memories? "I was driving to Wisconsin listening to a podcast and was alone for so long that I started to think the people in the podcast were talking to me and I started answering the questions out loud, by myself, alone in my car. Then I had to laugh about it by myself, alone in my car."

The MOTH: Jill Parker

How do you take your podcasts? "I love to listen to podcasts on long drives, slow mornings with my oatmeal, and definitely while doing a pile of dishes I let get a little out of hand."
